Welcome to Weekly Environment! The group for anyone who would like to practice environments and landscapes with digital drawing/painting.
WHO CAN JOIN THIS GROUP?Everyone can join, but I do expect to see some basic skill and effort before I accept any submissons.
HOW DOES IT WORK?Every week I will set up a new assignment. These assignments fall under a certain category/theme, so there will be plenty of variations. Once an assignment is given you can get started.
GROUP RULES
Members can only submit
once to a given assignment.

Assignments have
no deadlines and
no expire date.

This group is meant for
practice. Don't expect any prices/points.
SUBMITTING RULES
Add the assignment into the
description of your deviation.

Drawings must at least be
recognizable to the given assignment. (imagine it's a commission)

The assignment should be the
main focus. Objects and people are allowed but must not steal too much attention.

Stick to the
assignment rules. Drawing too much out of the box will eventually conflict with future assignments.

The end result must
at least be 75% drawn. Although you are allowed use 3D and traditional media to get started.
IMPORTANT!
DON'T SUBMIT 3D renders, traditional work, Photo manipulations, Matte paints or results made with landscape generation software!
DON'T SUBMIT random deviations. We're not an art-collection group!
ABOUT ACCEPTING AND DECLINING CONTRIBUTIONSTrust me, it pains me when I have to decline someone's work. But rules are rules and they are meant to be followed.
Basically there are a couple of things I must pay attention to before I accept a drawing.
First of all I expect to see some basic drawing skills. Members who have never drawn before are more likely to get their work declined because it does not match the standards of the group.
But please don't let it discourage you, because you will get unlimited chances to try again.
The second reason is the lack of recognition. Imagine some company asked you to draw an illustration for a dry desert and you come up with an oasis.
Sure, both drawings take place in a desert, but there are some very important differences that could conflict with another future assignment.
After all, the number of assignments will only grow larger and I need to get more creative everytime I make up a new one.
At last, contributing random deviations is out of the question. It's also no use to submit an existing drawing that matches an assignment by chance. They get instantly declined!
